I like to tip my Dunkies server, every morning I get a big smile, a thank you, a coffee the way I like it, and the personal satisfaction that I tipped someone because they treat me as I like to be treated.

Tipping can be viewed as " cheaping the business " or "begging from the starving college kid who has dreams of being a drummer in a rock band" We do not allow tipping at all. It opens up a can of worms! Staff should not be tipped to do a good job, it should be in their nature. That is why you hired them. I get annoyed when the tip jar is so right under your nose you just want to take it and say " Ha Ha, No tip for you!!"

This is an interesting dilemma many of us face. In some cases in hign volume stores with a great staff employees making minimum wage ($8.00), and tips deffinately make more than Shift supervisors and sometimes the assistants and managers if you break down everything to hourly. Then where is the insentive for good people to step into management roles?
